We love microgreens. We love basil. We love strawberries. Put them together and we LOVE this Strawberry Smoothie. No, seriously. We’re probably sipping on it at this moment.

We took one pint of our favorite farm fresh strawberries and put those little guys into a blender alongside our sunflower microgreens and basil. We let them dance in the blender with ice and coconut water until we got a smooth desired consistency. Then, we’re ready to serve!

Hydrating, sweet, bursting with flavor, and energizing. What more could you want?

Why do we call this a Super Smoothie?

Sunflower Microgreens: in this recipe, the sunflower microgreens bring in healthy fats and protein as well as chlorophyll, vitamins and minerals. These little guys act like the green powder added to smoothies except they are sweet in flavor, refreshing and delicious! Put that gross green mud aside, and throw these in your next smoothie instead. Additionally, those green powders are lacking the nutrients that come from fresh organic produce.

Coconut water: Compared to typical juices, coconut water has less calories, sodium, and sugar. Meanwhile, it is extremely high in potassium and electrolytes. It also has no fats and is cholesterol free.

Basil: Did you know that basil is a great vegan way of getting your fatty omega-3 acids? Additionally, it has been used as an herbal remedy for thousands of years.

Strawberries: In this smoothie, strawberries are like the cherry on top. While pea microgreens carry the team in this recipe, strawberries add in some extra vitamins, but mostly just have that little kick of sweet and tart to add complexity to the drink. It’s pretty much the frosting on the cake.
