How Do I Get It?

Click the “Delivery Options” button found on our shop pages to enter your zip code and find out if you are in our delivery region.

Direct Delivery:

Minimum order of $40 + $10 delivery fee.  We deliver to each region once each week determined by our routes.  Note that live trays of wheatgrass are only available by direct delivery.

UPS Shipping:

We ship 1-lb precut wheatgrass in insulated boxes with ice so it gets to you fresh the next day.

Live Tray or 1-lb Bag?

We usually recommend the 1-lb precut bag as it is so much easier to store in your refrigerator.  Note that only 1-lb bags can be shipped by UPS and Live Trays must be directly delivered in our region.  Remember, trays also need to be refrigerated, or they will likely turn yellow in just a couple of days.  Trays also require more care like, harvesting, watering, and discarding the soil mat.  1-lb bags of wheatgrass are still ultra-fresh and have roughly the same nutritional benefit and shelf-life as live trays.   A tray will make about 12-14 fl oz of juice, while a 1-lb bag will make about 10 fl oz.

Storage & Shelf-Life

All wheatgrass must be refrigerated at 35-38°F to last at least 1 week. It’s possible to last longer, especially if you add paper towel to your bag to absorb excess moisture.  If you are keeping a live tray, water it every few days when the soil becomes dry.  Consider harvesting your live tray at any point and storing the grass in a container or zip-lock bag lined with paper towel.

Juicing Wheatgrass

You MUST use a slow juicer designed for wheatgrass. Please do not attempt to put in a fast juicer or blender, this can damage your machine.  Also, always remember to clean up your juicer right away after use!

We recommend for wheatgrass beginners to drink 1 oz each day for a few days, then increase to 2 oz.  It’s better to juice more than once per day if you can manage it.  More advanced users can drink 2 oz in the morning, and 2oz in the afternoon.  It’s important to drink wheatgrass daily to see the health benefits.

Drink wheatgrass on an empty stomach.  Leave at least 30-60 mins before eating after taking your shot.

Not Loving the Taste?

Wheatgrass does taste like grass, although most people say it’s much sweeter than they expected.  Some people really like the flavor, but if that’s not you – try the following.

Sprinkle some cinnamon on your hand and lick it off after your shot.  This is not only fun (think tequila shot), but it really helps cut the flavor.  Or try chasing your wheatgrass with a slice of orange, apple, or pineapple (or sip of juice of the same fruits).

While it’s better for the health benefits to drink wheatgrass straight on its own, you can mix it into green juices.  We just don’t recommend mixing into anything that is too sweet (carrot, beet, fruit smoothies, etc).
